Not a new idea by any means . It moves the thrust face to the ex side of the bore. 9more surface area to absorb the thrust.. But you will need to add oiling holes to the piston to ensure that the bore gets enough oiling though. Other issues are of course : No airbox (lose!! the K&N's as they are power robbing ) Water and crap all over the carbs and fitting a decent set of pipes. More trouble than it's worth IMO.

The fact half the engine is missing will probably cause a few running issues

Hey, I think this is a great idea, Ive been obsessed with reverse cylinders ever since I saw a TZ250W in 1989, Ive wanted to do one of these since, and I will. I dont care one bit if its loads of trouble for not allot of gain in power, its not all about power after all, its about making your bike YOURS, everyone sticks great big swing arms, forks and wheels onto their bikes, and they probably make them handle worse than in standard trim, and in some case's they look worse (IMO) great job fella

I think John Floyd (google him - he's the world record quarter mile 2 stroke twin builder/rider) had some success with reverse cylinder LC's.

thats him, although that was obviously not one of his rev cylinder bikes. He had a reverse cylinder road bike featured in streetfighters many years ago (it was painted in a wierd sort of metallic lime green colour which matched his drag bike at the time).
