Since these have no lip on any part, whats the best way to get them out? I didnt want to kill em in case theyre ok, but didnt want to leave them in during the powder coat either. hmm...

washer on a studded bar(nut backside), oval or flat 2 sides of the washer to pass thro the id of the bush, twist once in situ and slide hammer out...always best to use the kettle of hot water on the external area to effectivley "break the seal" worked for me

Did mine on Monday night jonw. Nice long punch on to one edge, there is a very small edge and tapped them out. Would stick some of Norbs Bronze ones in if I was you. Back in the day if you couldn't knock out a set of bushes in a couple of months you weren't trying hard enough

Righto, sorted why i couldnt work this out... what looked like bushings without a step was in fact a tube thats runs thru the sleeves and the axle runs thru that... is that normal? finally managed to punch out the tube after about 2 hours of heating it and whacking various drifts at it. sigh. It was rusted in tight. now i have that tube out i can see there are two 'top hat' bushes in there, but theyre made of steel. ive tried punching them out with drfts and heat but so far no dice... should i leave them and reuse the tube? I ask as it looks like this may well have been extensively reworked in the past :/

Get them out. You're powder coating the arm so you building yourself a nice bike. Think about how you'd feel if at the first corner it's handles like a miniture dachshund coming down a flight of stairs with an erection........ If you can't get them out with punches and they're steel weld a rod across the flange, you'll then have something more substatial to hit. HTH Matt

You are right of course. I will spark up the welder and try again. I will also try and cut the bushes as well. Bloody thing is fighting me all the way on this one. Grrrr!

Thanks guys!
ive seen the parts book now and looks like i have a standard one but i have steel 'top hat' bushes... ive given em a lot fo punding with a drift and a socket and cant even get the first one out, even with heat. Will cut a slot in it next week and try again.
Ive now ordered the stainless and bronze kit from Norbo, had to really... this setup will get trashed getting it all out.
Gaz, the arm is actually ok, which is lucky as theyre thin on the ground in Aus... Id have swapped it for an aftermarket or DT one, but... again no supply in aus... and post... well... i think not :/
