The likes on Norton and Triumph must of cacked there pants when Soichiro Honda started showing up with stuff like this.....25cc a pot with 4 valves per cylinder. Had to be kept above 17k when on the move to stop it stalling RC149 Oh yeah its 1966 5 cylinder in line, 4 stroke, air-cooled, 124.4 cc (35.5 x 25.14 mm), 34 HP at 20500 rpm, max revolutions 23000 rpm, DOHC, 4 valves per cylinder, 5 carburretteurs, magnesium crankcase, electronical ignition, 9 speed gearbox, chain driven, drum brakes, tyres 18", weight 85 kg, (thats like 180lbs!) max speed 210 km/h.

Been looking at loads of bikes like this on youtube Sean. Absolutely fascinating. Came across a twin cylinder Suzuki 50cc 2 stroke racer earlier that reved to 22,000 rpm and had not 9 but a 14 speed gear box They just don't engineer bikes like this any more. That Honda sounds amazing.

I think i read in a book some where suzuki had a 4 or 5 cylinder 50cc smoker but it never made it onto a track due to rule changes

You looked at my 2 vids I linked sean? top one looks like that 2 cylinder suzi 50cc also on that forum page you linked and the bottom one is a honda dream 50 in race trim which is also pictured on that forum post you linked at the bottom lol. Small world Adam

Good point jazzy, but are you sure that wasn't down to the sprocket sizes on them? I have a friend who has a Honda Dax monkey bike that has a similar engine and can pull over 70mph. I also had a pit, with that 150cc engine in it that I linked. It sounded amazing, but I never clocked it. Pit bike tracks tend to be short, narrow and twisty. Also used to supermoto it, you can see my slicks on 10" rims in the background of the 2nd pic Adam
