Hi Everyone,
Newbie here, just introducing meself !
I'm about to start a Cagiva Mito with a (+4mm) Hot rods crank stroked motor with offset Wisecos and vforce reeds, 38mm Keihin PJ's and some form of tune (undecided) but no1lccrazy on youtube is in contact, about fully ported and flowed cases etc - either that or Mr Stan Stephens - as he's built a lot of Cubs and Cheetahs over the years.
Trying to get to grips with either using spacers between barrels and cases or machining the head to match piston height - lots of opinions there (reliability vs port timing etc).
I have a CNC'd version of Doug Bevans (Dougon2wheels) mounting kit (Lovely Mito YPVS that is !) and the frame lugs are chopped and rewelded - so I'm just sorting out a nice winter garage for this and another project I have (WR400 - with easy start YZ450 decomp cam fitted - lots of beach fun in the darker months - I live on Guernsey y'see ahem !!)
For the chassis I have a Gixer 1000K2 front end and brakes, and a Ducati 916 front wheel + disks, as this is a nice straightforward conversion - using the std Mito Yokes and a spacer for the speedo, the brakes all line up fine - s'been done by another mito conversion. Also a RGV rear shock for the extra weight (me + engine - ahem) and some other bits and bobs.
So anyway - I will post up some pics when I have recovered them (on old laptop drive - which died recently) - please feel free to comment and criticise and provide lively banter - this isn't going to be a fast project as I run my own company and often as not work silly hours !
I have a Hydraulic Bike Lift (early xmas prezzie) which arrives in a week or so, its a Sealey MC450 - and I bought one because
1. they have a massive sale on these until 31 Dec - £289.95 - down from £589.95 and
2. they store flat against the wall when collapsed - cooolio - and
3. I'm 38 and am tired of scrabbling round upside down in a pool of oil when tinkering with my favourite toys !!! - a little luxury should make the process more enjoyable (tollerable )
Anyway - this is just Hi for now, and hope we have some lively discussions !
Here's a link to Douggies Mito Build in pics and the inspiration for me building mine:-
