if you unplug it i'm sure the circuit will then be open so you will have to bridge the wires across the 2 contacs that do the kill switch. if you do this you are better off soldering the join to make sure its nice and vibration proof!

Cheers Steve, im just trying to eliminate it from the search as to why my engine just stopped and wouldnt start again. I managed .2 of a mile on the freshly built motor before it stopped Its getting fuel, the plugs are not fouled. I figure its got to be electrical. I did put a block connector on the stator, could be that, although i did solder the wires in place and not just crimp.

as steve says m8 you'll have to join the 2 wires that do the kill switch

Cheers Gaz, ive eliminated the kill switch as the cause, its working fine however I believe it to be the pulser coil as i can only get a reading of .8ohm between the white/red wire and the black earth coming from the stator, just had it rewound by west country so they can have it back. How do I test the cdi? cheers Andy

Oh deep joy, ive found the problem ;D The pickup wire (white/red) was trapped inbetween the stator plate and the crankcase. When i removed the stator plate I got a reading of 84.9ohm for the pulser coil. I have to say that I spoke to west country windings this morning and they were extreamly helpful and spot on with their diagnosis of what the problem might be. Thanks fellas, today is a good day

Excellent news m8.Gr8 when its such a simple fix.now get out and enjoy ;D lol. its not quite as easy as that. I went up the road for a test ride and applied some rear brake at which point the brake tension bar ripped apart at the swing arm mounting point and jammed its self round the back wheel. I dont think I tightened it up properly...what a nob I got a std bar i can put on and so its back to runnin it with no back brake ;D ;D

as steve says m8 you'll have to join the 2 wires that do the kill switch tbh mate if you short out the switch wires you will be making the KILL circuit LIVE!! disconnect the black with single white trace to the cdi (kill wire) and it should spark....however do not run the bike with is removed as you wont be able to stop it unless ya stall it.... there is also kill circuit via ignition as well.... no spark is usually stator or cdi related... unplugging the kill switch will bypass it and will not function ....shorting the wires will make it work so DO NOT do that!!! ok sorry monkfish, just would have thought the circuit would have to be connected together for it to work,i'll keep out of electrical probs i think
