was thinking of putting a o ring in the space where the colars fit into my micron pipes fed up with oil spueing all over the my rad and engine, have had the f**kin pipes off 2 or 3 times and used 2 or 3 different types of gasket sealer(oil resistant ,heat resistant ect)any thoughts?would it work or would the 'o' ring just melt with heat???

That's the other reason I ddn't use the microns I got from you, not just that set, remembered why I replaced them with allspeeds 20 years ago. Got the mick abbey ones on now, didn't like the idea of them bolted direct and no flanges and springs but 100% leak free. If you are going to try an o ring you could use the silicone pv outer bush seals, they will take the temp and oil. Steve.

you need viton 'o' rings, they are the high temp ones i use on my rgv flanges, i also use a bit of silcolene hi-temp flange sealant, using this method i have been leak free fo a couple of years now.

Hi, just had another thought on this. As you have had longer flanges made the inside end of the pipe does not but up against the gasket so may be making leakage worse as there will be a ridge in the header. You could try lining your headers with some steel tube to bring them down to the size of the pipe. Don't have to be welded in to try, silicone it as it cant go anywhere as it will be too big for the port and same size as the pipe. If it works you can tack weld it or braze it in. Would be somethig for the pipe to butt against and make the gas flow smoother and less likely to blow out the joint. Steve.
