Just had a look in the genuine Yamaha workshop manual and it says 24nm or 17ftlb for the cylinder head . Tone.

My torque wrench is old but seems to be in good order though I am not sure about its accuracy.
I know the consequences of not tightening the head enough but what are the consequences of over tightening it, other than stripping the threads?

but what are the consequences of over tightening it, other than stripping the threads? Bowing the head apparently as the head overhangs the gasket.
