Hi just bought a Wolf gasless/gas mig from ebay, I'v set it up without the gas to try it worked ok with what i did. I now have a large co2 bottle so have now set it up with gas, it didnt seam to change the end result. I had never used a gasless one before seamed ok.

I use a Sealey 100 gas welder with good results up to 6mm plate I have heard that to get the best results use gasless wire in a gas welder I have found that I get the best results from using 0.6mm mig wire as it gives you more time to build up a neat weld ;D

Hi mate, same type as I've got, I'm no expert welder but was able to tack on a couple of brackets to my frame. Only problem i have had is getting a good flowing weld run - I've no problem with the all singing and dancing MiG welders at work, but your talking mega bucks for them. But what i did is still attached, so looks like weld penetration is OK, just difficult to get a good looking weld - but it matches the rest of Mr Yamaha's pigeon shit welding on the frames.
Paul.

with low amp welders use the small diameter wire i.e .6 mm turn wire speed down and power right up then increase wire speed to get the perfect weld try on a piece of similar thickness steel first if it blows thru no probs.it can easil be filled with weld hth

The better the welding equipment you use the less skill you need to get a decent weld out of it in my limited experience. Ive used shit welders and struggled abit before getting decent welds, a decent welder makes life much easier. As with most tools you get what you pay for i think.
