Not wanting to run before i can walk, im intending to replace a leaky head gasket this weekend. Has anyone here bothered to check and adjust there squish?
If so did it make much difference? Do you still run a head gasket? what ideally should it be? Did you need to rejet the carb?
cheers
sorry 250 lc

Ask Ravedaddy he knows all about squish ;D ;D ;D I believe to get the optimum squish clearance you have to skim & O ring the head, had Slinger from the other forum do this one for me.

Cool, what sort of money was that? Im assuming then you dont use a headgasket with that one?
The big question though is what difference did it make?
Im assuming the reason for ditching the head gasket and lapping in is purely to save removing as much material from the head.

You need the 'squish to be at 0.8mm and YES it does make a difference. More power and it runs cooler. It Should be the Very Frst Mod to your engine, next pipes then Zeel.
