Fill it to the max with the cheapest oil you can get wether it's chip pan oil or motor oil. Any oil is better than none to protect ALL of the inside. Coat the outside with metal primer. Let it dry and then cover the whole thing in grease. Failing that. Sell it to me !

I bought an original lc tank of ebay , the guy had stored it in his loft for 26 years as it was and when I collected it, it was still like new inside! I suppose if it's stored completely dry theres nothing to cause it to rust? Maybe a spray of wd40 would do it as alot of peeps spray chrome parts in it b4 storage !
