Hello all, I believe this is my first post? I registered along time ago but never posted. I've been on the Yamaha-RD.com forum for a long time on and off. Been mostly on the ukbeg forum but just got banned tonight for good! No I'm not a bad person just never fitted in no matter how hard I tried. Forum was very cliquey with a few assholes to boot. Fell out with one intolerant B who could only post negatives and never anything nice - told him a couple of truths tonight and he banned me for nothing really! Turns out he owned the site So I'm alittle sad cause that's 18 months of my forum life down the drain despite all the crap I used to get, there were some nice people there! Anyways, I've spoken with Norbo a few time over the phone - nice chap, I just hope this forum is nicer and welcoming compared to my last! Paul

Morning guys!! Hi Paul yes this is me. I like that RD500 forum but it's too slow for me. Thats why I stayed with ukbeg for so long because there was so much going on and posts were answered quickly.
Hi jazzyj, thanks for the welcome, I hope to make some new friends here, even if only virtual!
Let me tell you somethings about myself, I suffer from dyslexia, not proud of it, embarrassed really as don't like to think I struggle with anything but my spelling can go a miss sometimes! I also use a forum like having a chat in the pub, which has turned simple questions into a mega threads only because the chats have continued, you know - ask a question, reply, ask another leads the conversation in a new direction etc.
I tend to stand my ground if critised unnecessarily. Love to be part of having a laugh among friends but I tend to bite if I receive mean spirited replies that are either patronizing or a put down. I tend to hold onto old fashion values about respecting others even if the others are virtual but that can change if set upon! This is what got me into trouble with ukbeg because often they would close ranks and I ended being targeted which really P me off, they are very cliquey and they disguise online bullying as piss take and I do know the difference!
Now that I've introduced myself I'm looking forward to chatting with you all. ;D

well if you and mr dawkins get your heads together you could come over for the forum BBQ then maybe not so virtual eh lol.. ph you have pm .. One thing that is to my disadvantage is that I'm in Plymouth and have a youngish family so it's not easy going on long bike trips. I would love to come but everyone seems so far aware. not sure I would trust riding my RD's so far up plus they don't have sat nav!

Welcome mate!
Don't worry about your dyslexia! We're not going to judge you on your spelling, or anything else!
One thing you need to know, is we love pics of peoples bikes!

Thanks guys, seems like I'll fit straight in cause I love posting pics of my bikes! The only reason I mentioned my dyslexia is that I had a hard time with ukbeg, bunch of hard core typists ;D, so I just wanted to paint the picture as what seems right in my head doesn't always translate on screen.

Thank you all for the warm welcome, it is a breath of fresh air, I like this place already. I've spoken with Norbo and ordered parts a while back now a few occasions through the yamaha-rd.com forum which sadly has lost it's way. The attitude on ukbeg was sometimes breathtaking, not in a good way but in a way that riles you! Turns out the owner's attitude stunk and many of his demon buddies would be allowed to say what ever they wanted to you and often quite nasty and mean spirited all in the name of "p take" (just incase kids are reading). ukbeg is a VERY popular forum but there are people who just visit and not post because of what goes on there! Anyway enough about that crappy old intolerant forum!
PS; when I watched a couple of those short videos of some of you going off from Norbos place on a rideout it reminded me of the 80's when there were alot more 2 strokes around - something you just don't see anymore..........................except for scooters!
