What are the width of a later type 125 rear rim - and is it 18 inch? Can you fit this later model rear rim onto a MK1 with no major drama? Will chain line up etc? Can you fit 350 forks (any fork, LC or YPVS doesn't really matter) to a MK1 frame? If not, can I steal the MK1 yoke stem and put onto a 350 yoke to make it work? That's about it.

All 125 lc rear rims are the same . You can put a MK2 in a MK1 no problem they will line up . The swinger and brake drum are both the same they are both 18" The front is however a 16" unlike then 18" on a aMK1.
You can fit LC or YPVS forks in to a 125 but the yoks are to small you will need to bore them out top and bottem to take the stanshons.

Not too keen on boring the yokes though lol. Was thinking a (hopefully) more easier solution - putting 350 yokes/forks on the 125, LC or YPVS forks doesn't matter, and then put a F2 wheel on (so it matches the later style 125 rear rim) to get dual brake discs that looks and performs better then the 125 LC brake. Btw do you know how wide the later style rear 125 rim are? Hopefully it is 2,15 so it matches a 350 F2 front. I also noticed the 350 forks are longer then the 125 forks, so I'll look into that. In worst case I'll just drop the yokes to the max and put a skinnier front tire on lol..

your best bet would be to fit the 3 spoke wheels from a late 2rk tzr125 from about 1991, the front wheel is 17" with a bigger disc and the rear is a 18" or maybe 17" with a disc too, obviously it will need the swinger moding to fit the caliper bracket but not too hard work, the front end bolts straight on and i expect it will handle better than fitting a heavier f2 front end.

Aah cool, seems like a great mod. The rims looks pretty good so it's tempting to start searching the web for tzr parts lol. I've seen rims pop up here and there although they are somewhat rare here. Not too keen about the rear brake though, I actually prefer a drum brake at the rear as it is much easier to deal with, and also the job is already done if I decide to use the later style RD rear rim. Yeah a complete YPVS 350 front end is quite heavy unfortunatly, even if using the lighter F2 wheel, but that doesn't bother me very much tbh. Btw, am I seeing correct - do the 1991 tzr use the same forks as the later RD 125? Oh and anyone know the width of the later RD 125 rear rim?

im not 100% sure if the late 2rk tzr125 forks are the same as a mk2 rd125lc but i think they are the same ,if you look on the rd125lc forum you will see atleast one thats already had this conversion.it will be a cheap and easy swap if you find a tzr breaking
