Suggest a tiny cigarette lighter plug type Tire compressor. Daft as it sounds, these little tykes produce up to 200 PSI ..True. (keep Fingers clear .. ejecting Pistons are V Dangerous!) IF that dosen't budge it then the Grease gun method should work. IF that fails then it's 'in the trash bin' for that caliper.

I got the rear piston out of my Buell caliper which is one large piston jobbie like the LC's with a foot pump and a bit of tube nice one headcoats, thats what you call being resourse full.. ;D

I've just done 3 sets of calipers, 2 X 31K and one 4L0. On all but one of them I had to resort to the weld a stud option having tried air, hydraulics, heat / cold etc.
If you have to do this on the 31K type I made up a bracket to take the load off the forked section of the caliper body. Worked a treat -- eventually !!
Gary-robbo, what did you use to pack the calipers in your re-build threar, looks like silicone sealant ? Looks great when finished.

No joy, have tried reconnecting to the mastercylinder, also tried a compressor at about 120 psi have fitted a bolt with ptfe tape into the banjo hole and a tube onto the bleed valve, had to use a petrol pipe clip to stop the hose popping off under pressure. Opened the bleed valve slightly and pressurised the caliper.
Have applied heat and cold. The piston moves out slightly maybe 1-2mm then stops and retracts once pressure stops.
Im about to throw this in the skip but believe that to be overkill. I dont have access to a welder to tag a bolt on to the caliper. I know the piston should be that bad as i wound it in with a 'g' clamp, unless the seal has come out and now jammed between piston and caliper.
any other ideas? or am i just doing this wrong?

Again... TRY one of those small /.cheap tire inflation compressors. These typically generate MUCH more pressure than a 'real' compressor (which often cannot open even a fair condition caliper) Failing that ,screw in a grease fitting into the caliper's bleeder hole then pump it out using a decent grease gun.. Messy but it usually works.

Ok so, the mini compressor started smoking at about 140 psi and started making a funny noise, still not movement despite heating upto 150 degrees c under the barbie. Kind of made my prawns taste funny aswell.
grrrrrrrrrr...............

-- Kind of made my prawns taste funny aswell. grrrrrrrrrr............... LMAO After seeing all the little parts fall out of my carbs during their ultrasonic clean I would imagine this may be an option too if you're really stuck. CJ By the way - did you sort your electrical problem?

piston finally out, bought a new el cheapo tyre inflator and tried again. definately applying some more heat then hitting it with the compressor finally did the trick took over 160 psi but started shifting, luckily id left the pads in place otherwise i think i might have sent the piston into orbit.
No not sorted electrics yet this problem seems to have taken precedence for now. will let you know when im back on it.
cheers

Can anyone put a picture up of how they managed to attach a foot pump/compressor to a banjo bolt please?

Can anyone put a picture up of how they managed to attach a foot pump/compressor to a banjo bolt please? You place it where the bleed nipple goes not the banjo bolt, remove the banjo bolt and insert a caliper bolt in its place to block it off, I use a tapered plastic insert on the foot pump and force it down into the bleed nipple hole.

Cheers mate, I got confused between 'banjo', 'bleed' and 'nipples' somewhere near the middle of this thread. It sounded painful and I panicked. I will try it tomorrow!
