Ive just started getting some miles on my bike now its finished, (apart from tank being re-sprayed again). when i was out on it the other day doing 80+mph, the rear wheel locked up on me, after a split second of shitty knickers i pulled the clutch in and coatsted to side of the road....
Checked 2s oil...o.k, checked water...o.k, checked temp.....abit hot but not on red, checked transmission...oil level o.k??? Half expected the engine to be seized solid, i tried to kick it over and low and behold it kicked over o.k, free as a bird. Didnt start after afew kicks, so stuck it on reserve tank, kicked again and started fine. Got on and rode 30 mile journey home no issues apart from brown stains down my leg.
Any clues why this happened?? Ta, Lee.

I've heard a few tales over the years of bike's nipping up when they went onto reserve but was never sure if it was true or possible. If it is it could be that?

Agreed with the last comment, its main jet is oversize @ 230 for the exhaust im running with as recommended by the manufacturer. Im sure lack of fuel, recent rebuild and coming of load @ high speed all contributed to the nip up. Still, out again tomorw, 2 fingers on the clutch lol....

Forget! riding it. Remove the cylinders and Inspect carefully, then renew the damaged bits.. the Next Sieze and there.. WILL.. be a next one, as direct result of the first one, will do v expensive damage, and maybe even to you.

Yes most will attest they will give one warning usually a little nip and then a major seize Yours sounds a little bigger than little so you might be lucky but be warned it will happen so pull the top end down Mate just had a minor seize on the track Broken collar bone punctured lung 4 ribs
