Hi, I am looking for some advice on buying a 350lc, I have been looking at one on ebay, its a Rz Jap import 1981 is there any major differences good or bad, also being a Jap import does this make them less desirable. Regards Colin

Not sure on the 350, the RZ250 was a 250 YPVS and you couldent buy pistons for them so if your motor blew the only way was a second hand piston off another broke engine, been there done that. Bound to be a few diffrences i reckon. As for less desirable it depends, i reckon a nice bikes a nice bike and im not much fussed on green bolts, matching this and that etc. The most money is in a matching numbers UK bike that some clowns pay over the odds for thus driving the prices up for the rest of us.........rant over haha.

Regards Colin AFAIK the only visible difference as the ebay ad states is the rear indicators are mounted on brackets welded to the frame, not to the rear sub frame. Probably not as desirable to the anorak brigade but still a very well looked after example. If you want to try & find out a bit more info on the 4U0 model have a look HERE HTH OEB

I have plenty of pistons ant top gasket sets so dont worry about that . If it sounds fine and runs well just get it, asooming its at a good price ofcourse. I would not worry about it being an impost andy problems i am sure people on hear will be happy to help you with any thing you come across that your not sure about .
Its al about condition i have seen imports gor the same price as uk ones. so dont worry about that ether.

Just out of interest Norbo, can you get 250 YPVS pistons for the RZ now, mine blew and luckily West Coast salvage had broken an engine and i got a second hand piston off them. Grampians couldent get them new.........no one could at the time. Everything else was the same as UK 350 i think but it did have the 50mph light on the dash.......and to Rumster good luck getting a bike, research your prices to death as theres a lot of unrealisticly priced bikes out there now. Ask the lads on here before you buy just like you did on this thread, its cheaper than being stitched up.

Thanks for all your help guys, some people do seem to be a bit greedy when it comes to price but people pay it I think ebay has driven up prices on everything, anyway can't wait to get one and smell that 2 stroke ;D. Thanks again Colin
