Hi all, Though i'd start this thread up, I visit the site daily but generally don't say much. Btw great site run by good guys. This is my first complete rebuild, only ever done top ends before. Had the cases cleaned and top end tuned by Mick Abbey so ready to go together. I've been collecting parts for this over the last couple months gaskets seals etc.., so I've fitted a new YPVS loom and electrics and now on to the engine, It was a bugger to take apart even with the correct tools but I got there. Got the gearbox in this morning, took me a little longer than I though but its in, just hope it works. I painted the top end last night and put it together this morning pretty straight forward even for me. The new crank will be with me in the morning so hopefully have it together by the end of the week. Basic spec for the engine is Abbey fast road tune, PWK 28mm carbs with foam filters and lomas pipes, what would be the best reeds, Boyseen or V force 3 or just standard? I guess Boyseen, I need to watch the pennys its cost me a small fortune already and her in doors wants a holiday. A coulpe of pictures so far, Ill keep you posted. Jessy

A bit more done, the gearbox was a bit challenging for me as its my first attempt and adjusting the gear selector, anyway took my time and its done, gears select ok so fingers crossed its ok. I think i'm going to go for Boyseen reeds mainly due to cost, but might change my mind?? Should get the engine in tomorrow and piped up, then just waiting for my clutch casing to come back from NK, then we will see if I put it together right Over and out for now, Jessy

Hi, Fitted the clutch over the weekend, might be a bit of stupid question but is there a torque setting for the clutch springs or half in or screwed in fully? Its just about finished now however ordered some V force3 reeds from TTS in oz, but due to the bloody volcano can't see them arriving any time soon.
thanks,
Jessy

well got the engine in yesterday and carbs, went in ok without to may problems. Kick start seems to be catching slightley which I'll have to investigate. Just the electrics to sort now, not my strong point a few stoopid questions coming up I think all for now Jessy

Nice and Sparkly. Perhaps you might save up for Zeel Bits. There is Significant power (and smooth running) when those are fitted.

well, all done now apart from a couple of small bits. been a real pleasure doing it and glad now I built the engine rather then getting someone else to do it. Hopefully we have a good summer so I can get some use out of it. Thanks Jessy

That looks real mean. I see you've gone for premix. The engine certainly looks a lot tidier without 3 oil pipes and I like the idea of no oil/water pump cover. Did your kickstart need much work to put it right?
