I have two 12A carbs here that I have just taken apart to examine and clean thoroughly. One thing that struck me is that they have different Needle Jets (Nozzles, Emulsion Tubes or whatever you like to call them : Neither carb looks to have been modified or any kind of Ledar kit installed but when you examine the emulsion tubes, both have 5 holes (3 one side, 2 the other) but the one removed from the 12A-00 carb has noticeably larger holes that the one removed from the 12A-01 . It's well documented that the more or larger holes in the tube will pull more petrol through even with the same jet size, so I can only assume the one with the larger holes would give greater fuel delivery with a bigger jet after the main jet became the limiting factor in the equation. Make sence ?. What gives ?.
