Cheers chaps I just fancied something on the button that I’m not too bothered about riding in winter 🥶 Hopefully fits the bill Matt 🐻🐶🐶🐻 You might be a bit surprised about winter running. Ive use an 888 and one of the 1st gen Monster 900's and they both suffered from the carbs icing up. Still ran but very rough.

Ive use an 888 and one of the 1st gen Monster 900's and they both suffered from the carbs icing up. Still ran but very rough. I used a Bandit 1200 for a few years, in the winter I had the same problem and used pipe insulation stuffed round the carbs to prevent them freezing up, left the gap between the rear of the cylinder open to radiate heat to the insulated area. It worked well as a bodge job

Nice Matt!
I have a 900 Monster 2 valve and love it. You'll find it very different from anything else, lots of grunt and no need to rev like an LC!

20 odd years ago I had an itch for a Duc, just had never had one. Bought a 1991 900SS from a bloke locally, it was brilliant, loved that thing so much I didn't get round to selling it until last year, then realised I should probably have kept it.

Looks a fun bike for sure. I had a 900SS for a short time. It was like a turbo tractor, and great fun, but just too uncomfortable to enjoy for any real distance. This looks much less painful ! Enjoy mate

My mate took his street fighter s in for service a few years ago and they gave him a scrambler as a courtesy bike. He let me have a do on it and I wouldn’t give it him back, what an absolute hoot! He then traded in his for one shortly after but I’ve never dared buy one myself… yet…..

Enjoy mate Funnily enough, I'm a big lad but found the comfort no brilliant but ok, and was much improved with a Corbin seat, went a couple of longish camping trips on it and it was fine. Mine had Keihin flat slide carbs which gave it a bit more oomph, would lift the front wheel in first and second under power. Doing the belts on sohc motor is a breeze but the valve clearances are a bit of a faff. Yeah the scrambler does look like it would be a right hoot for sure

I do love the look of these, it was certainly styled with the XT500 in mind. In fact the early Desert Sled models even used the colourway etc.
I keep wondering if i should buy one... the belts services are a bit too frequent for me tho really, but I do love the look.
So Matt, whats the review? like a motard? better with a hypermotard for city work? great for days out/touring instead?

You shouldn't scratch itches, thats how you get skin infections. Use germolene or summat similar....or you could just sit on yer hands and save on the expense of the germolene....

Nice Matt! I have a 900 Monster 2 valve and love it. You'll find it very different from anything else, lots of grunt and no need to rev like an LC! Mouse I looked after a few Ducatis, that included a 916. 888. Monster and my favourite was an old 750 F2. The best bike I've driven fast over all the crappy dijke roads near me was without doubt the Monster. One anecdote, a friend brought his 916 to me and said take it for a ride, which I did. When I come back he said no not up and down the road drive around the outside of the village. I replied with I did, he said ohh and went a bit quiet.

It’s an itch I have to scratch Gets delivered next week Matt 🐻🐶🐶🐻 I have the "Icon" scrambler, similar to this but less scrambler and more road bike. Its great fun and easy to ride. I like the contrast of it with my 250LC - a lazy ride in comparison.

That is so cool I looked at them did think of one but would want an 1100 motor. I’ve owned loads of Ducatis and the ac motors are fantastic but they don’t like salt the engine finish deteriorates at the drop of rain. Enjoy.
