Hi all, been out all day blasting around on the F2 and although everything is spot on (mechanically) i think the steering needs to be a bit quicker (for me anyway) anyone else with an F2 have the same thoughts? Any views / advice on possible causes / cures / mods? ;D

Checked tyres, both as per spec: 90/90 front 110/80 rear, 26psi front, 28psi rear. i suppose i expected it to dive in like my FZR 400 RR being a light / nimble bike.

what about drop yokes a few mm so the fork legs protrude through the top slightly?

Lol, Don't really have a riding style, just the odd day when everything comes together, and the days when i'm riding like a t**t. Well pleased with the F2 just expected it to be a bit sharper (steering wise). Have dropped forks through the yokes before on my race bike, it made a huge difference to the steering but the trade off was loss of straight line stability !! I'll just have to stop looning around on it and learn to ride it properly ;D aarrrgh, old dogs and new tricks. Thanks for all the input fellas.

The difference you are feeling is probably partly due to the F2's 18" wheels. I bet the FZR400 wheels were smaller.

Hi all, I think your'e probably right about the wheel size thing, most sports bikes of that era tended to run smaller wheels and low profiles. Still may look into alternatives like jack-up kits etc: Just looking to speed the steering up a bit without ruining the general handling. Anyone know of such a kit or used one for the f2/ if so, how did it perform? cheers all.

NK Racing do jack up kits for the YPVS and LC. Not had any experience with YPVS of any type, so couldn't really comment and i haven't used a jack up kit, but i have played with the rear ride height on my LC a bit, altering sag via spring preload (i have a different shock with threaded body). Obviously winding the spring platform up and down isn't as extreme as a jack up kit, but still fairly noticeable none the less. Jack up kit would be worth a try if you ask me. cheers fella, just a few mm adjustment can make a world of difference so i'll have to check out whats available (jack-up wise) and see by how much it would raise the rear. i've got the rear shock pretty much how i like it at the moment, so don't really want to dial in any more pre-load and change things. Iv'e got a mill & lathe so might have a go at fabricating an off-set shock mount with some adjustability built in. Many thanks to all for your opinions and advice.
