Hello I need to change brake pads because theyre down to metal and have a few questions Right now im struguling to remove the individual pads. Is there any bolt going trough them in the caliper Replacement First of all im not shure if this is the original brake caliper (see picture) if this is the original must i use the original pads or is it possible to get some standart pads from a shop What are the specs of the original pads? Generall tipps I might have more quesrions, ill post them in this thread

Thanks that helped alot I want shure wich pin was for the "bolt" but it turned out good For cleaning is brake kleaner okay for that, what woud you use? And there is that one metal aluminium pice on the back of the caliper how shuld you remove and replace this. Not the flat pice the other. Thanks for your help Lg ronnie |

It looks like you or the previous owner got full value for money out of those pads 👍.
The pin going through the pads can be very tight. I've stripped a few calipers where I have had to drift that pin out. It's easier to do with the caliper off the bike.

The one big pin with the rectangular end.
Ronnie, its well worth getting a workshop manual for these bikes. Haynes is quite good and easily available, the OEM is also pretty easy to find since most Yam dealers ditched their copies over the years so they appear on ebay often.

A hot top for anyone working with an unfamiliar brake caliper is to look at pics of the pads that are fitted to it. Ie. if you look at these pads... easy to spot that they are held in with a big middle pin/bolt etc.  |

Metal thing how do you remove and replace this metal thing, dont know what the name is? it sits at the rear of the caliper on the "roof"
the caliper
can you pull the second pin / bolt out without bleading the brakes? the whole brake is very dirty

rn since i baught the bike i made around 7500 km and i dont know when the last owner did a service so i will bring the rd to the service when it runs and brakes again

I will do that I got the new pair right here i just need to know how you remove and replace this mrighe type metal thing that goes on the roof of the caiper Sorry i was stupid my piston was all out and i had to push it back in thats solced the metal thing is now ealy replaceable Now just need to fit the pad in an get the bolt to the other side with is prety hard Learned something today Have a grate day |
