Spent a long weekend in Yorkshire a couple of weeks ago. I have a friend who lives up by the North York Moors who also has bikes and knows some epic routes around there! Anyway the purpose of the visit was two-fold, one to get some work done on my FZ and the other was to visit a Mr D. Whattam aka Mutts Nuts with my 31k.
She's been feeling just a little 'off' recently and sometimes not so keen to rev cleanly, with my limited mechanical knowledge i surmised that it was an ignition problem (it is all over forty years old!) and had booked in with Dave to have an ignitech fitted.
Well, it seemed i was right (amazing, it was the ignition!) and after leaving her with Dave to have the ignitech fitted and a lot of dyno time to set her up, she has a tuned engine, i returned the next day to pick her up.
What can i say, it seemed several horses had escaped from her (6 or 7 to be precise), which i am very happy to say, Dave has returned to the stable! The ignitech has cleaned up the whole power delivery and she now flies through the rev range. So 67rwhp and feeling fantastic! See the dyno print out of before and after. Just wanted to add a huge thank you to Dave for all his help and work!
I then spent some time riding around North Yorkshire with my friend and trying out the new Dunlop 'Sportsmart TT's' which i am using and collecting flies! Happy to say the tyres feel great and would recommend them, not sure about the flies!
