He was always a hero of mine when i was growing up. He was always smoking, I heard a story that he had a hole drilled in his helmet to enable him to smoke on the grid before a race. How mad is that?

Yes he did certainly in his earlier racing days, normally as soon as a race ended he’d spark one up. Started smoking at about 10 yrs old both Frank and Iris smoked only made 52 years old. My all time motorcycle hero (can you tell)
