I have one clear and one foggy carb window, the little round ones for lining up the carb slides. What is the best method for cleaning one of these windows? They are very hard to get at.

Sometimes they clean up using a soft cloth or tissue on the end of a bit of bent wire from inside. Also, if you also paint the dimple in the slide (I use red, some people paint white or yellow) then they become more visible when syncing carbs. If not, then as above you can fit replacements.

I had to replace the ones in my carbs after a careless vapour blaster didn't mask them off. Ruined. I found these - from an aquarium supply shop, of all places. They are made of acrylic, exactly the right diameter and thickness. They are clear, the blue is just backing film. I removed old ones with a thin drill bit through the centre by hand, then levered them out. There is an o-ring underneath. New ones fixed in with a thin smear of epoxy round the inside of the aperture - all good. Happy to send you a couple in the post if you like. Cheers - David
