now before i ask, iv checked the wiring diagram on my manual, and me and electrics dont mix, i may aswell looked at the moon.
long story short the fuse box looks pretty new, fuses are good , just had the motor rebuilt bike fired 3rd kick, great thinks me but the gremlins appeared, iv no indicators, horn, brake lights idiot lights and temp gauge. only headlight tailight and clock lights..
are the lights im missing on a common feed?

Brown wire feeds the items you refer to, brown to brown wire at fuse box, I think 2nd fuse from left, try one of the other fuses, just to be sure.

twist the fuses around in their mounts to make sure there is a good contact and try again

Deffo try fuses first
DONT TRY AND TWEAK THE FUSE HOLDERS TO GET A BETTER GRIP ON THE FUSE, THEY JUST SNAP OFF
Not uncommon for the fuse to look intact but in fact where the fuse element joins the end caps has corroded away
Carefully clean up the fuse holder with fine sand paper if you have to
If slack you can cut a 6mm strip of alluminium foil and wrap it round the end of the fuse 2 turns. Usually enough to make a slack fuse good

no problems lads cheers.everything was fine the last 4 years now this happens strangly the same day i put the motor in. Earth wise nothing has been painted or powder coated. Fusebox wise its been in it since i bought the bike and it looks as good as new..
i will have to check again but i did see one block connector coming of the engine that didnt look great, a small squarish block with white wires going into it looked a tad iffy but i assume it comes from the genny? i will check later but its the same with the engine running or not.

I had something similar the other day, i needed a new flasher unit so fitted one to the connector beside the battery and turned the ignition key, the oil and neutral lights flashed 3 times before the fuse that tony mentioned, 2nd from the left popped, horn and lights still worked tho.. scratched head, looked at the wiring diagram and ordered some new fuses, haven't done any more tho yet.. marti

Well i checked it over again, cleaned a few blocks had a swap around with the fuses and still the same, then as i was pushing the blocks back down under the seat everything came on.... turned out very simple, the large connector block tho it looked fine must have been a little short on one side to make a good connection. gave it a proper good squeeze and bingo.
cheers folks.
now all i have to do is run my nice tight sounding engine in...if it stops raining any time soon.

cool, the old wobble of things is often a winner with old electrics.
Do unclip it and clean the connectors tho, its not yet 'fixed'.

i pulled said block apart and turns out as the block got pushed together one of the pins was being pushed back far enough to loose connection...

Ahha! Well that would have been the problem for sure. Its nice to find the issue as then you can claim it is fixed, not just wobbled
