The originals bent easily when new ( well mine did after I hit a kerb at around 20mph ) but where easily straightened.
I replaced mine with some Italian manufactured ones around 4 years ago , been good so far.
(Sorry cannot remember the make, it may come back to me at some point.)

New ones should be good if a reputable brand or have been previously tested out by others.

My LC stanchions were very pitted when I got it and I was looking at either a rechrome, or replacement, last winter. The prices for both were much the same, so I bought a new set from Norbo, at £140ea, and they fitted and work perfectly 👍
