Seen this kit on eBay, says it fits 83-84 LC2 swingarm. Anyone fitted this or is it only for F1/ F2? I'm fitting my Hagon shock soon and servicing all the linkages so this would be a good upgrade at the same time........if it fits! 🤞 www.ebay.co.uk/itm/116101633566

It says its a Tourmax, thats usually a good sign its not crap.
83 and 84 are not F1/F2... While in Japan the F1 came out in 84, its the 85 model year elsewhere. F2 is 86.

Hi Jon, yeah I know Tourmax are a good make.
I never said 83-84 were F1/ F2, they are LC2 as I stated!
I asked if this kit does indeed fit the LC2 or is it really only for the F1/ F2 that originally came with needle bearings! 👍😁

Well if it says its for the LC2 and says its 83/4 then it should fit the early model I would think? FYI arguably the F1 is an LC2... I was trying to help by saying the years for the other bikes you mentioned to highlight those models are not from those years stated by the ad... Im sure someone who has used the kit will be along soon and let you know. FWIW (nothing i guess) I used an NK kit on my 83, it was great and fitted well, but ive read he doesnt do them any more. (And even less worth) Ive also used the yambits one on an LC and it was a bit rubbish, the needles were loose (as designed, but annoying to fit) and the end caps were wrong - my discussion on it is in my 251lc thread.

Yeah, cheers Jon.👍
I'm just wondering if there's enough of a recess in the ends of the LC2 swingarm to accommodate the 2 roller bearings each end in place of the plastic bushes?
I've got the 1983 Factory Yamaha manual and I'm sure there's a detailed drawing of the swingarm pivot in there..... I'll have to dig it out!
Might drop the seller an email and see what they say? 😁

The fact it has 4 needle roller bearings suggests LCs
You would never get 4 in an F1/2 arm
LC2 bushes were longer

I hear you Steve, but I think the 4 thinner bearing setup is so they can use something standard to keep the costs down.
I bet if you divide the space (length of old bush) by 2 and then look at the OD and ID of the existing parts and then look at the standard sized needle roller bearings it wont be far off something and thats what they used.

Just checked Fowlers parts and they now show the same bush for both the LC2 and 4LO swingarms, 90386-22127 so the plot thickens!😁
The ebay listing does say it fits both the LC2 and 4L0 so I'm starting to feel more positive......I think!🤔

I haven't used this kit but converted my LC2 to rollers ordering the separate bearings and seals from Simply Bearings. Did the main swinging arm bearings and the drop link ones.

Just a thought, anyone got a spare LC2 swingarm out of a bike that can measure the bearing recess width and depth at the ends of the pivot shaft?
Once I know the measurements I can figure out which needle bearings will fit!🤞👍
