Painted wheels

I finally dug out my spare set of LC wheels for painting having been inspired by Dusty's find of a new powdercoater on the local area. Have been toying with having a set painted for ages for my 4LO and i've had these wheels for years!

So, off to the powdercoaters. Once stripped it was clear that at some point the wheels had been blasted with some sort of really aggressive media, which had left them in quite a state. However the powdercoater managed to get the finish nice and smooth and good enough. I might at some point get them diamond cut but for now, i'm pretty please with the result. I also have the standard wheels too in case i ever want top swop back.

Those wheels look fantastic mate, ive got my 350lc wheels being powder coated and rims polished on the island atm.

Photos don't do them justice ! They look fantastic. Ovi is a great guy and works hard to get them right. Top bloke, and top work.

I liked Ovi the second i spoke to him on the phone, really nice guy, hope to get mine back end of the week, and Mouse that LC is stunning !

The great thing is, no masking up required
Ovi - the powdercoat guy coats the complete wheel and then carefully gets the powder off the rim edges and spoke edges before putting the wheels in the oven. so any polishing of the rims is done before the powder is applied. He masks bearing surfaces and disc mating surfaces, but no need to do the rims or spokes, so saves a lot of time, which equals money of course

He's a top fella Working 6/7 days a week to get his business going, and it's starting to pick up now. My go to powdercoat guy, Jamie, wasn't keen to do them with the polished edges, due to the work involved. I had approached a couple of other local places but they weren't interested either, and the other firm known for doing it is in Essex, so quite a trek from me. The other bonus with Ovi is he will remove and refit tyres as he has the machines - not many places offer to do that. He has just started Cerakoting too
