shouldnt be a huge issue, but plated would be better if you dont use it much as they would rust.

As per title,does this really matter? I have nowhere local to me that does electro plating I wouldn't have thought it would matter. They'll be regularly covered in oil when the bike is used and it'll stay there long after the bike stops. If they are rusty now I would get rid of the rust and fit them. I don't think a plating company would be too interested in four reed stops. It'll probably be less than their minimum charge. One reason for setting up my own plating kit is for doing the odd bolt and bracket here and there and not all in one go.

Thanks for the replies. I think I'll just use them for now. There's no rust on them so should be ok
