hmm... None of these Yam codes are ever helpful with modern painters sadly IME.
What we need is a database of the colours as scanned from original (hopefully unfaded) panels.
Even when people say things like 'Ford Diamond White' it doesnt always translate as there are different versions of some of those generic paint names and it was a different colour in different markets, and of course some countries dont have the database for the UK/USA/ROW car colours. ie, in this case if someone said '70's Dodge Jet Black', i doubt a uk painter would be able to mix it as its sadly not on the paint system. FWIW I found a really good match for the white LC with the door jam colour (ie not seen too much Aussie sun) of my mates 90s Mazda delivery van... but i doubt a uk painter would be able to make it.
The best thing Ive found is to user a real bike painter (not a car guy) who knows these bikes and has a plan. eg my local painter has a 'Yamaha white base' they use and tint up and down for the model. Same with blacks. Works really well on LCs as theyve done loads of those bikes... and they have same for the metallics and pearls for later bikes as they do a loads of FJs etc. Sadly they wont share the info, but i get that as they worked hard to create the knowledge.
I would love a good match to the grey for this F2 scheme if you find one.
Oh and the wheels too, tho I think someone maybe found that a while back?
