Todays conundrum from the bike that keeps on giving... 1983 350LC German 4L1 conversion. The front brakes are 2 different calipers. The right side is a later type(2 shims), whereas the left side is an old type (only one shim) And they both have later pads fitted! And also both have the same shim (which I'm not sure is right or not?) Options. 1) Find a left hand side later caliper (rocking horse poo it seems) 2) Rebuild as they are with correct parts (pads, shims, sliders) Would this be a problem? Both the pistons are the same diameter so should perform the same. 3) Up grade both to more modern calipers. This looks to be quite an expensive option. Is there a popular conversion? I'm guessing it will involve new brackets and master cylinder?
I'm open to any suggestions. Thank You.

3 choices I can see
Find an early RH caliper to match the left which should be easier to find
Find a pair of LC2 or early xj calipers that fit
Adaptors and blue spots (use the original master cylinder or 14mm Fazer)

Would YPVS calipers bolt straight on?

There is not a problem technically with odd calipers
The 83/84 ypvs calipers fit, the later twin opposed calipers don't
