Wish I had learnt how to strip and build engines when I was at school it’s good to see that they are eager to learn

The engine is seized so needs some further investigation and some brute force :-)

Spent another hour on it. Managed to get the right hand cylinder about 20mm further up, but not quite off yet. Looks to be stuck on the casing studs as the piston is now moving. Also got the engine casing off. Found one random bolt in the clutch basket so far. More oil was still coming out and it was very dirty!
Did not get time for pics but will try to get some tomorrow.

It's very satisfying getting an engine apart that really doesn't want you to.

I agree... and at that point you also hope youve had the last of the 'bad surprises'... one can always hope!

Engine fully stripped now.
Casing ready for blasting.
Crank is welded and all crank bearings are shot, so bin fodder... Need to remove the primary gear, but the backlash numbers are way out...
Clutch basket fingers are worn quite bad so it will need a new basket or a better one to tidy up.

Has someone 'flowed' the crankcase inlets, looks a bit wobbly around the gasket faces. Otherwise looks like they've done a good job with the clean-up.

It has had some weird adjustments to the lower transfer area.

Spare bottom end dropped off by Nick. Stripped by the kids today. Gears look good. Crank not welded so should be good for rebuilding.
