Cagiva Mito 125 (old build)

Thought some of you would like to see my Mito. Not sure how long ago I did this but the idea was to get a full power (33bhp) Mito and spruce it up, rag it for a bit then sell it on. I do recall the bike cost about twice the amount that the van rental to go get her cost!

Found her on eBay and the seller said she was a rideable bike but no MOT. Won the bid, got the van and picked her up.










Not a pretty sight. She was clearly red before...so out came the paint stripper.



Every part of this bike needed work, and I mean every...





Bent handlebar and the switchgear held on with these...





Then it stopped starting. Turned out it was the bendix and not the actual starter...phew.





Got some sticky Pirelli Diablo Corsa Rossos...



And then set to the bodywork, wheels, brakes, you get the general idea!









Painted everything myself and it looked so good...





























Sold her with a years MOT. Did a check earlier and the MOT expired in 2018. Sad.

great build Alex, always a shame when they dont continue to be used after such a short time after you move em on.

My dad wanted me to get a Cagiva Mito as my first bike when I was 17 but it was hard to find a good one. 
How fast was it? Also was it a seven gear one or a six?

Seven speed. 33bhp but weighed about as much as a box of Kleenex. 115mph was the top speed recorded by some bike mag but I never got close to that on our roads. Accelerated faster than an LC and that's saying something. ReedPete's Mito is the same bike. They are on eBay but for silly money for a very fragile bike, tuned to the nuts if you get a Euro model. 12bhp if you get one of ours!
