Just wondering who's going and are you taking an LC with you?
So far it's me, Tim, Mark and Johnny.

Well, yes lol. I do like your idea of riding the course with a break inbetween....nice coffee watching over loons belt past you.

That’s what we do Alex often we end up being the loons. Loads of great viewing places. Great coffee shack in Ramsay square. There is so much more to the island than just the course as well.

Planning on a trip to the Manx this year. Regular at the TT but will be first time at the classic. Not sure about which bike I’m taking yet as I’ll be with my mucker on his old Indian so a slow run down. Looking forward to it. 😎

The Manx GP is about a zillion times less mental & busy. Down side is the Mountain road is 2 way and Bushy's bar has gone on the seafront too, but still some good pubs to frequent.
The British on North Quay was a lively spot post races & there's the bar @ the grandstand where the riders will be. MD/JmcG etc wondering about if you want to chat to them & all seem pretty friendly.
I found solice and smoked fish at Moore's smokehouse that has sadly now closed & I'm on a mission to check out Devereau's in Douglas/Peel now instead - I do like a Manx kipper and especially good when you're up on the mountain marshalling all day. Some good eating to be had for sure.
My one word of warning would be Do Not Speed in the restricted zones as you will get done.. You can pretty much guarantee multiple speed cameras in your face & there are some places like the Ramsey Hairpin/Kirk Michael/Ballaugh/Union Mills to Appledene where the cops are. On the mountain is open after the Goosneck still and if you want to nudge the 50 limits best do that carefully too as there are more of them nowadays. Cronk y Voddy was a flamin 50 last year - it used to be 150mph... There's a Vodka distillery there now just FYI!!
Watching the races also gets more restricted which is why I marshal.. Places like the Helicopter Field just before Glen Helen sees riders go through around 150mph 2ft from you - mental!

I always thought all the roads out of the towns were unrestricted? Thanks for the warning! Seems the IOM is becoming a bit Germanic...some autobahns are fast as you want, others have variable speed limits.

You’ll be fine. We know where most are, the mountain is unrestricted and if you know the roads you know where they can put a van and where they can’t. There also some great roads not on the course if you know where to go. There are some great little sea food places in Peel, laxey is always good for a cream tea. Our local is the ‘woody’ normally get Rutter and a few others drinking there.

lcmarky I always got Kippers for my Dad from Devereau's Douglas the selection of Sea food is fabulous
Cronk y Voddy Vodka was one of out team sponsors in 2019 2022 " Hoolies" Manx White Rum was one of our Team Sponsors ( one of the original guys at Cronk y Vodka) I had to go the the opening launch night, its a tough job....... As Veg & Lcmarky mentioned above, loads more to the Island than just the TT course
I generally have to stick close to the Paddock so pubs ect are usually these evenings (if bikes behave) are The Talk of the Town good food & drinks, back of the Paddock, Nobles Park, Douglas :- The Queens, Sam Webs, Brendan O'Donnels and "Douglas Snooker Bar" open to public (very late bar) just down from St Ninians crossing
Dont forget the fabuouls Ice cream (You know it makes sence)! Loads more to this place than just the racing See you guys at TT and Manx GP Best regards Johnny C

Last year there were more speed restrictions and more cameras in random places as well as the usual spots, so just bear this in mind that the local cops want to nick you!
Last week I ordered some Manx Kippers from Devereau's.
If it's not ice cream weather then it's pub weather for sure.

It's actually cheaper for me to fly from Heathrow and back than take the ferry. But I don't think BA would accept an LC as hand luggage. However I have a plan A and a plan B and hopefully a C. One means my bike gets there on a trailer and I fly. One doesn't.

Would you love to go this year but those ferry prices 😥 There's a swanky new boat too, but no choice other than taking your own RIB or flying.
