I always use ypvs -(fits :ypvs) that sorts a lot of the c### out, then there's UK only, but overseas is useful most of the time.

thanks LC BOTT, not sure i quite understand you. I have noticed that various shops / dealers use a "fits ypvs" within their listing but not sure where of if i can untick that ?

Yep, does my tits in 🤪
I used to just search in vehicle parts and accessories but I now filter into motorcycles as get loads of car bits now
Even at that I don't want parts from a Honda Africa Twin or 10 pages of sprockets that aren't for an RD 😤

EBay can accept Boolean type search terms , so putting ‘-‘ before a search word will mean the search will find everything with your primary search term less all the words with ‘minus’ before them.. So you can refine accordingly. Also you can evolve the seach by seeing what your actual search chucks up then reduce the results by eliminating the things not interested in. I’ve never experimented to see if it’s smart enough to accept ‘not and’ … but that’s because I also have a life 😂😂😂

As reedpete says, put in brackets, what you don't want to search for. Most rubbish says fits :ypvs in the listing. So put that in the brackets and put a minus in front, as below
YPVS -(fits :YPVS)
YPVS -(for :YPVS) etc etc

Just be aware that the more things you '-' the better it gets, until it doesnt. After a while the results grow instead of shrinking. Thats a factor of their search engine and long tail searches. I could say that I know cos I have less of a life than Pete does...

Just to add to this. Once you’ve typed in your search with all the minuses etc, then save it. Click off a button next time.

Boolean logic - studied that 40+ years back as part of my maths degree, never thought it may come in handy one day for personal use
