Hi peeps what do you guys put in the fuel tank to keep the dreaded rust away, while in storage for a while?.

Some two stroke oil will do the trick. Make up a small amount of 10:1 so you can slosh it round. Then just drain it off.

Steve Cooper who has now retired, but was the VJMC tank treating specialist recommended emptying a tin of GT-85 into the tank for storage.

I use STAB-IL fogging oil in my tanks that are off the bikes (and engine internals). its about £10 for a 350ml aerosol. we used it in engines within the marine industry. it has good film retention.
