Just about to rebuild engine and getting vapour blasted. What’s people’s thoughts on Ceramic Crekote ? I hear it’s latest way to go. Any idea what costs are and anybody who does it in West mids area?

It's a great finish. Impervious to fuel, oil, brake fluid etc. Withstands great heat - more than you'll find on an Lc engine. You can get airdry or oven cure. Downside is it is a thin coating, so wont hide imperfections on parts like powdercoat can, plus it's more expensive than powder. My choice for barrels/heads and engine cases

I paid £120 for the head, both barrels, the water fittings on the head and some small brackets. This was the oven baked cerakote. This was a year ago. Top job though if you're keeping the bike

Price will depend on who does it, the sort of volumes they buy the paint in, overheads etc etc. Cant remember what I've paid in the past, but I do remember the cylinder head on the 350 was £50; 20221027_202723 by dusty miller, on Flickr Cant remember what the side cases cost. The other thing with Cerakote is you can paint plastic with it as it flexes, so the oil pump cover was done at the same time so the paint match is exact. Pretty sure all the paint comes from the USA, hence it's fairly expensive for a smallish bottle, although as it's a thin coating it does cover quite a lot
