I've used a new aftermarket ignition lock on the 85 YPVS that I'm restoring. The connectors on the ignition lock and wiring loom match but there is a significant gap between the connectors because the lead is shorter than the OEM lead. The position of connector on the ignition lock lead is fixed by it's length and the position of the the multi-pin connector on the loom is fixed by the position of the fuse box fixed to the rear mudguard and is routed straight so it'd seem that no re-routing could shortern the gap which is about 6in. The connectors are possibly available and a distance piece may not be possible or lengthening the individual wires on one connector but while I'm managing to do the wiring it's definitely not my field. Anybody met and solved this problem who could offer me some advice?

As above
LC and 83/84 31k have a short lead as they connect in the headlight
85 on connects behind the headstock so has a longer wire
Also the later longer one has a kind of burgany/plum coloured connector, short one is white

From memory the later switches also had the kill wire not in the block but on a bullet
