It's still a very small amount of discontinued stock with the likelihood of no more once sold, and let's not forget that there has been another batch of tanks made through demand, all the parts are subject to wear and tear creating demand, and there are lots of LC's in the UK, this site is only a very small part of the LC collective, lots with LC's not on here, I am prepared to pay whatever I have to for what I want and there are plenty just like me out there.
As for the rest of us… surely mostly the opportunity for Norbo to sell to us here or in the wider community, comes from the upgrade demand… a NOS part available at a price where you think … ok, I can buy that, sell the one I’ve got to subsidise and have a nicer bike… but I’ve got a threshold… no different to when I bid on eBay… I rarely want something bad enough to just stomp with a massive snipe.
the topic Norbo should be concerned about is maximising actual gross sales across whatever time period matches his end game … obviously, high price , low sales volume equals low revenue… very low price, high volume also equals low revenue… so there’s a sweet spot… and that requires to understand the mindset of us the great unwashed not the onetime money no object pro restorers. There’s only a very small number of money no object resto’s completed each year. That won’t made a dent in Norbos stock if he has 150 of something.
I don't waste money on alcohol anymore, which allows me to spend more on my hobby P
