At present I have, bikes but just bought an LC. I don't use the bikes much, so have a low mileage. What is the best way to insure the new LC? Imagine annual mileage will be less than 500.

I’ve two bikes - my LC2 is historic, my diesel is 23 years old.
I’m with Peter James on a classic bike multi policy.
I joined the Vintage Japanese Motorcycle Club this year and they took I think £50 or £60 off the renewal and got I unlimited mileage instead of 1500 a year across both bikes.
They’re pretty good - breakdown and recovery is included which I’ve used once, the AA came.
Worth a look in my view.

Mine are all over the place 3 bikes with one call insurance and 2 bikes with bikesure renewals at different times of the year which I suppose spreads the costs?

I'm insured with Peter James as well. I have four bikes on it. Initially I had 1000 miles as a combined total but had to increase it as I'd done 3,000 in one trip on the VFR and never twigged. This years renewal seemed very expensive. If I hadn't been so lazy I would have looked for something cheaper. Saying that adding European breakdown only added about £40 last year and a lot of companies wouldn't even touch the Honda for being 19 years old!

Peter James as well. Was with Footman James, but they wouldn't insure my Bimota.

I have 2 classics on one policy with RH Insurance. My Triumph Street Triple is with Hastings Direct, through Topcashback, so should get £26 back :-)

I have a 4 bike policy with Triumph Insurance (Bikesure) at ~£400 per year. The flexibility of classic and modified bikes is good but they do charge me £30 every time I make a change, which is annoying.
There is also a strange clause:
E434 EXCLUDING THEFT WHEN NOT IN PRIVATE GARAGE AT HOME OR DECLARED GARAGING ADDRESS You have agreed that you will keep your vehicle in your private locked garage or building, at your home and/or declared garaging address, to which only you and anyone with your permission have access. If a theft or attempted theft of your vehicle happens at any time and within a 500 metre radius of your home and/or declared garaging address when the vehicle is not locked in this garage or building we will not pay the claim. This restriction does not apply to any loss or damage occurring whilst your motorcycle is parked away from your home during the course of a journey

Footman James for me
2 x ypvs hybrids all mods declared
1 x TR750, all mods including frame change declared
Classic policy so no NCB bollocks, agreed values, bikes returned to me and full value paid if total loss
Also got the must be garaged if at home address
Could be worse, when I bought my R1 in 2006 there was a clause saying not insured if stolen within 1/2 mile of home
