I've been to the Bike Shed. It's really one for the brown seat Shoreditch brigade.
You're not going to see many Simpson bandits in there.

40 years ago a place like that would never allow bikers in, let alone trim their beards and serve them a cortado. Id feel as out of place there as a fart with a lump in...

Never been but I did watch The Motorcycle Show when Cole visited. Bizarre to say the least. £40k+ bikes and all they seem to do to them is put a digi dash and a different seat on them. Not an oil leak in sight, no spanners lying about. When I go to a bike shop the last thing I'm thinking is can I get a shave there and a decent espresso. Poseurs only club.

I know a few of these types of lads in Rotterdam. They seem to spend their money on looking good in that sort of Steve Mcqueen style only pottering about from one social place to another where they can be seen.
Each to their own i say.
Personally I think they should stop putting their back tyres on the front wheels to look cool.
I did some maintenance work on an old CB 750 for one of them. After that it scared him. He said it went too fast and the brakes were dangerous.
The reality was a boat would stop quicker before I got my hands on it, and it wouldn't rev out so it never went above 110 kmph in top gear.
Oh by the way he now has a new kawasaki 500 twin and he loves it. He said it's nice to drive. I resisted mentioning the tyres are in the right places.

The trend seems to be moving more towards old off road bikes. I think LC Marky and Veg could be trend setters.

I went to this some years ago, when I was living in South London. Definitely the motorbike-as-fashion-accessory end of things along with all of the trendy, expensive gear that goes with it. Big beards, tattoos, 'craft' beer, pricey burgers etc. Still a good day out though imo. Some interesting specials - a nitrous C90 and a bike with a (small) radial piston engine spring to mind. I'll see if I can dig out some photo's. Also an interesting part of London that rewards a casual wander. The event itself is hosted in an abandoned shopping precinct built in the 80s I think. Shadwell basin just up the road is worth a look - very odd. Reminds me of the 60's TV show, the Prisoner Cheers - David

The trend seems to be moving more towards old off road bikes. I think LC Marky and Veg could be trend setters. Classic off roaders... My 'Pre-65' builds consist of a pre 65 motor (externals mainly) only... There is a huge amount of effort that goes into some of these 'old' girls.
