My chain was too long, so I borrowed my friend's chain tool. It was super easy to split the chain. I then fitted the new chain and aligned it with my Laser Alignment Tool.

I also fitted the rear brake arm and brake rod, so the rear brake is now working.

I started getting the clutch actuator mechanism fitted in the left cover as the rain started, so I had to put everything away.

Love that brake disc Rob, Im sure Ive asked you before but Im getting on a bit (er?!)... Can I ask again, 'whats that off?' It is a 320mm disc off a TZR250 2MA / TDR250. That is for mockup. I managed to get a new EBC disc with a gold centre for £80.

The wheel was removed to get a new BT46 tyre and inner tube fitted. Before putting it back in, the new disc will also be fitted.
I put the oil in the engine too. 2 litres is what I use for now.
I also built up the left engine casing and fitted it, then adjusted the clutch. The clutch is nice and light.

Looks great Rob. Ive been searching all over for a disc spacer and cant find one. Do you have any advice on this? Or dimensions to get one made? I had hoped that most Yams of the era had the same PCD to the bolt pattern so there was a generic spacer in various widths available, but all Ive found ready made is an SR spacer at Motolana and it doesnt list all the dims, but does look like 2 sets of holes and says '80mm bolt pattern', but thats only part of the sizing for this as the lip is important of course: www.motolanna.com/ourshop/prod_3022255-Brake-Rotor-Spacer-10mm-Yamaha-SR500-SR400.htmlAnyway, interested in what you have to say on this Rob, Id love to do the same setup.
