Very interesting, had he ever ridden a two-stroke bike before that? He seemed a bit hesitant on the first lap, not surprisingly at all, and I did notice what seemed like short shifting at one point. I imagine the power delivery must have been quite different from what he was used to.
I rode an exTed Broad (Dave Potter bike) at Snetterton once, it was like being strapped to a rocket!!!!! the power delivery was quite fierce and it just surged forward in every gear, how anyone could tame some of these earlier 500's always amazed me, what a GP must be like I have no idea, he did really well if he's not ridden a two-stroke before.
I noticed the engine was quite warm (high) when he initially pulled out onto the track and then settled down to the normal temperature which may have made it go a bit quicker as my TZ's over the years never liked getting too hot and if they did the power dropped slightly.
Nice video.
