I haven't done it, but I do know aircooled side cases will fit an Lc crankcase - as in all mounting holes line up. You would need to check kick start spindle diameters are the same, and oil pump shaft lines up, plus the clutch basket clearance is the same. Dusty

Thanks Dusty, got a 350 ypvs casing, kick start shaft is different diameter and of course won't need the water pump and drive pinion. Fancy doing a clear lexan window job

Yeah, I like that but always liked the look of the ypvs better.

Yamaha emblem makes the oil pump casing look better!

If I'm honest, the Tuning fork decal covered a small scratch I managed to put on the casing after it was coated ! Dusty

As mentioned the YPVS cover lines up and will bolt to the crankcases no problem, however the kickstart shaft whilst the same diameter where it comes through the cover is shorter on the aircooled and doesn't come far enough through the YPVS cover to mount a kickstart. If you are using the later E or F casings then you can use a YPVS kick start mechanism to get the additional length needed but the inner end of the kickstart mechanism is a smaller diameter and needs to be bushed for the correct fit into the AC cases. The earlier C and D models use a different style of kickstart mechanism and the casings don't have the same mounting point for the return spring so you cant use the YPVS kickstart Mech'.
All in all not as easy as you may have hoped for, but it can be done. It depends on why you were trying to do it, to decide if its worth the effort.

Ok chaps, I now have a ypvs cover and lock up clutch on my aircooled RD. I'll try to work out how to add some photos later.

So over the winter I managed to fit the clutch casing, with lexan window. I blanked off the coolant outlets with liquid metal and dressed back also the same for the water pump shaft aperture. To solve the kick-start shaft problem I made up a combination/hybrid shaft of half 400 And half 350ypvs. Had it welded up and then Machined back. fitted 350YPVS kick-start. Can't post pics but if anyone wants some message me your number and I can WhatsApp them.
