www.esso.co.uk/en-gb/fuelsWe currently supply an ethanol-free Synergy Supreme+ 99 unleaded in some parts of the UK. From September 2023 our Synergy Supreme+ 99 will transition to contain up to a maximum of 5% ethanol at all Esso pumps irrespective of which part of the country they are located. The labelling at our pumps will remain as E5 for Synergy Supreme+ 99 unleaded.

When there is no legal requirement I don't see the point so more like ethanol is actually cheaper than petrol 🖕
At least its better than 10% but 😤

I do most of my bike riding in Spain these days and I'm yet to find a pump with E10 in it, it's only ever E5.

Bought some super unleaded the other day from my local Repsol (I’m in Spain too) and managed to splash a bit on the car body - it’s tinted blue and took a fair bit of shifting.
Never seen anything more than E5 round me either

Bugger. Has anyone got any idea of if any other brand will sell petrol with no ethanol when Esso stop ? or will there be no choice ?

Esso was THE only one, as far as I'm aware, who stated that there was no ethanol content, in certain areas of the UK.
So from September, everywhere will be up to 5% ethanol in super unleaded.

Mouse E5 has to be "Up to 5% ethanol content" but the companies don't seem to disclose what the actual % ethanol content is. In the separation video I posted, whatever that petrol was had around 4% ethanol content.

Mouse Depends on where you live, as up till September, here in the Midlands Esso stated when asked, that their synergy 99 contained zero ethanol, pumps were and are labeled E5 for legal reasons. Most of UK were the same, except Devon and Cornwall and somewhere else I can't remember.

I use a small independent garage with esso always use their super I’ll keep my eyes next time I fill up if it’s says anything. The good thing is it’s so small and local that I doubt they sell much super.

Be careful - fuel goes stale and looses some of its ooomph when it’s been hanging around.
The petrol station near a local airfield has an Avgas pump. Not tried it but it’s high octane and no ethanol.

Well it's all moot for me personally, as I've just found out my local Esso, in fact the only one local enough for me to use, has planning permission to knock it down, and turn it into a local Asda shopping store, no fuel at all.
Back to V power for me .

I wouldn't recommend using 100% Avgas, mix it 50/50 with the Esso super

I believe the VAT on Avgas is different, not sure how you would be charged if you wanted to use it, especially if not being used in an aircraft.
A friend of mine used to buy it in 20-gallon drums but that was for use in a TZ racing bike using 50/50 mix.
