I suspect there should be little or no play when wobbling the clutch basket side to side . Mine has quite a bit and I have a vid but dont know how to put it up on here?

Varying ideas on this. 4-5mm seems acceptable. New pucks will give zero play normally. Anything more than 5mm could be deemed excessive. The pucks can and do break up, allowing excessive movement, and the "D" shaped ones can revolve in their housings and allow more movement. Seems you only get the "D" shape on Lc's, but late model Lc's seem to have round pucks, as do Pv's. Dusty

Sorry I meant the complete assembly back and forth not circular movement. I have play in the shaft bearing and also play in the basket bush on the shaft. My bet would be wear on the bronze insert bush in the basket itself.

You can get a replacement bush from MBD, fitted one on my project a while ago...
