The carbon fibre dual stage reeds I`m using (UK manufactured) have just had one of the small petals break, and another was showing signs of distress when I stripped them out. Less than 1000 miles, not run on anything other than E5 Shell V Power. YPVS Reed blocks squeezed into a 4L0. Just fitted some new oem yam steel reeds. Can anyone recommend any other fibre reeds that work and from experience last longer with modern fuels than the last set I had ? From memory I fitted some Hy Tech fibre reeds in the early 80s that lasted around 15,000 miles ( then the bike got nicked )

Hi Doug I've had the same happen with genuine V3 petals. They break up on the corners. Approximately every 2 years a set. I'm now on TDR Reeds but they haven't been in that long maybe a year. I can't recommend a manufacturer.

I’ve got YPVS Harpowa petals in my 4lo that have been there since about 85 and 15k miles. I have checked them recently and they do look fine. I’ve recently bought some brand new Yamaha steel petals with the intention of using them if the Harpowa reeds start decaying. I’d be interested in what you decide to finally use yourself 👍🏻
