Can anyone give me some advise on the above system fitted to my rd400c
Ive lost spark to my plugs, was working.
Does it gets it feed from the kill switch, pulled the red stripped wire from connector from loom to to the ignitor box. No voltage with ignition turned on.
thanks

I assume you mean the Horse Power Ignition, HPI unit? Do you have a product number or wiring diagram?
I know nothing about it, but from a quick look at their website, it appears to be a self generating system, so does not need a power feed from the ignition switch circuit. The kill switch will normally be connected to ground with the engine OFF, so if you check that the kill wire is not grounded, it should run.

If it is the HPI 210 mini rotor system, it uses the black / white wire to ground to cut the motor. You can disconnect this and try.
In order to have a working ignition switch an additional relay is used to ground the black / white wire when the ignition switch closed.

In order to have a working ignition switch an additional relay is used to ground the black / white wire when the ignition switch closed. noonster if your bike has been wired as abar121 describes, and if that relay is duff or the battery voltage is low, then it won't be able to switch the kill circuit to get the bike started.

Wiring diagram here: www.hpi.be/downloads/210_1C_130_eng.pdfAssuming the stator is plugged into the small CDI unit, the only additional connections you need to run are the orange to the coil and black (not black / white), to the coil ground. Black / white is grounded to kill the motor. The yellow is used for the light circuit / charging via reg/rec, but not essential to get it running. They seem to be very sensitive to grounding issues, so check your grounds.

Thanks Chaps, ive found the issue.Rmoved rotor and found half the magnet was broken off, but no bits in casing. So somebody knew about it.So asked my local classic bike shop to check out the coils on the stator and also to try and locate a new Rotor.
Also why is there a diode fitted in the circuit, and the circuit looks live all the time even with ignition turned off

No idea about the diode other than in a rectifier. Looks like who ever installed it, didn't bother fitting a relay to get the ignition switch to work. If it's the current mini rotor HPI kit, you can get spares from here. Scroll down and check you have the right flywheel for your crank setup. webshop.hpi.be/product/210k176/
