Out of hibernation and she ran like a dream....but the fuel tap was very stiff.
Any tips please, I am sure I have heard of this before now on the forum.
Thank you

Buy a new one if its a vacuum the repair kit doesn’t work and you will fill your engine with fuel ,if its a lc buy a tourmax they were cheap recently

I believe on the 4l0/1 taps, you can loosen off the screw underneath to let the tap turn more freely. I was going to do this and then m&p had a tourmax tap on sale for circa £30, so I just changed the tap over. I think the old one was leaking a little as well, so probably a good move all round.

Is the tourmax a long term fix or will that stiffen over time too?

I'm hoping it's a long term fix 🤞 though it only went on this year, so I can only guess how long.

I loosened the screw a tad on mine to make it easier to turn 👍🏻

It's the shit ethenol in the fuel, I went through a couple of taps which both went incredibly stiff, one a tourmax, fitted one of Norbo's TZ taps and only use super from my local Esso.
I suspect the insides were reacting the same as the fuel pipes which went all solid.

I think it was Mutts Nutts who suggested using an R6 fuel tap as an alternative to the standard fuel tap.

I have had both genuine and tourmax fuel taps go 'stiff' (oh er!) on my 4LO, as 'Beardy' says just loosen off the screw underneath a fraction, worked for me!
