20211106_110321 (1) by Martin Mason, on Flickr 1968 with Harris 5-speed box. Just finished rebuilding engine after forgetting to put oil in after draining for oil change . Very nice bike to use as long as you stay out of the high rev range where vibration is bad.

Lovely bike, I really love t120’s. Had a 65 with a 68 tls, hi level pipes alloy rims etc loved it. Grew up with Bonnies dad had a 1960, I’ve still got the log book, he worked at triumph for a while, older brother inherited his 1978 t140. I’d love another.

Yes, they are great to own and prices are really weak now. Spares really plentiful too. Just a lovely looking bike from a wonderful time in biking.

They are that, prices went mad for a while as everyone who wanted one as a kid bought them, then they all started to age and got out of them, the same will eventually happen with lc’s. Just 20 yrs later.

You're dead right Veg. Triumphs suffered badly due to shiploads coming over from the States, eventually the dam had to burst. Dave Degens told me a few years back that the craze for 60's style bikes was over and people were now looking at the 80's bikes, what they had when they were kids. I'm so lucky to have loved both eras. I don't like modern bikes, all angular GS1200 Adventure look alikes. They are perfect but boring as a result.

Had TT pipes on mine for a while but they were far too loud sounded great just peed off my neighbours too much. Love the west coast white and orange. JoMo special 👍

I used to be able to tell all the differences between west coast and East’s coast grew up with them, I was obsessive about triumphs from age dot. My 65 was a US import in the early 90’s from Clive humphries who was my local specialist and before my old man became a teacher he worked at Meriden on rectification line and prep when he moved up here. I’d love another one I know my old AHA889B is still around. I altered mine massively (need to find an old pic) which used to wind up the TOMCC lot a treat. Brother still has my dads 78, another mate has an X75.

This is a great book that explains every difference west coast/east coast & UK. Mine is so well thumbed it’s falling to bits. If you’re interested there is a great book called triumph in America it’s all about the models the establishment of triumph and how much Edward turner did setting the states up as well as racing in the states etc definitely worth a read. Ffs I’m now scanning eBay 🙄
