Why do you want one? They are a little bit lighter but wear out a lot quicker, as will your chain.

Hi Mark, Not sure, but I've found Talon really helpful in the past, so worth asking them 🙂

The last couple of rear sprockets I've put on my R1 have been Renthal anodised gold aluminium alloy ones. The main reason, and it sounds a bit sad, is because I think they look nice. I don't do a lot of miles on the R1 but they seem to last a decent mileage and the bike has at least as much power as an LC

The hard anodising works very well
If its bare alloy the only thing I'd imagine the faster wear would affect the chain wearing a bit

I know a lot of MotoX guys use the Talon alloy sprockets, and they last well considering the abuse those bikes get

I know a lot of MotoX guys use the Talon alloy sprockets, and they last well considering the abuse those bikes get The lads YZ's always had alloy rear sprockets. After just one session all chains/sprockets look FUBAR. I thought the chain that was on the 125 when we bought it was knackered so I put a new one on. After one session the new one looked the same as the one we took off To replicate the effect mix one hand full of grease with one hand full of sand and smear it all over your brand new chain then go for a ride, ta da.

Seems alloy sprockets have moved on! I retract my last comment and grovel meekly for forgiveness. It's just I have used them a long time ago and they did wear out quickly. But back then every journey was like being on a race track so...

Sure I’ve read recently that Talon don’t deal with public any more only through dealers i.e demon tweeks and the like.
Mark.

I used to have a good relationship with them back in the day, but they seem disinterested in dealing directly now. YMMV tho, its worth a phone call or email, not ventured etc... Ive used Rental alloy sprox before and theyve been fine, but never done huge milages... but you have to wonder if anyone is doing that on LCs now lol

Ie the parcel itself is still in the system and has a label on it. So long as its not been nicked, lost, skipped or damaged it should still turn up as its physically still deliverable. When you run the tracking on the Malasian Post site does it show the parcel either leave Malaysia and/or reach the uk?

I've used B&C Express in the past, with good results, but they have now been bought out by "Hoco Parts", and will now only deal with Trade customers

Yes that’s it dusty, you’ve just jogged my memory, it was B&C Express who no longer deal with public!! I rang Dennis Trollope yesterday, he has Talon 520 LC rears in stock but only in gold not silver. He said silver is rare now. Never mind can’t have it all ways I suppose., I’ve used him in the past and it’s great to be able pick up the phone and deal with someone with vast experience and provide a good service in this day and age of the internet.👍

Wear is not really a Fair question .. Here :-) as Few bikes Imo get more than Parade use. Steel sprockets can be worn out fairly quickly .. let alone Ali ones. A couple of Microns of Anodising .. not with standing. Your Bike Your $$.

I had a few made by CPI here in Portland Oregon. 520 pitch and roughly 1/4 the weight of the OEM steel.
